Arts Practitioner Statement

David runs Drama Workshops for schools, providing an extensive range of drama sessions for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. David also runs workshops for many other children’s organisation. These have included Young Farmers Associations and Brownie Packs! These can either be in term time or in school holidays. Workshops can be tailored to requirements and can run as short sessions by the hour or for up to five days.
David’s drama workshops are popular with teachers and pupils alike. They involve the young people as the fundamental creative resource, actively combining the dynamic possibilities of children’s physical and vocal skills and their imaginations.
Workshops are available to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes. Active Storytelling sessions are available for Early Years. Details of Active Storytelling sessions are listed below.
The workshops focus primarily on creativity, imagination, self-expression, confidence and social development through drama. Workshops can also use drama as a tool for investigating topics within the school curriculum.
All workshops give children the opportunity to explore their own creativity and offer a valuable perspective into the possibilities of experiential learning. The use of group work encourages co-operation, expression, sensitivity and problem solving.

David is the Artistic Director of Kingston Junior Drama Company
