Arts Practitioner Statement

I am a ceramic artist, art teacher and art workshop leader. As am ceramic artist I hand build with a variety of white clays and porcelain, my inspiration being the natural world, texture and form. I enjoy creating sculptural forms and shallow relief work which I highlight with earthy oxides and glazes to accentuate interesting textures and mark making. To complement my artistic practice I also run art workshops, using ceramics and a variety of media to all ages from pre-school to 19 and also to adults including community groups and university students. I also run art workshops for special needs participants of all ages and am Bronze Arts Award trained for projects with young people. I have delivered workshops in a number of settings such as schools, primary and secondary, my own studio, Watts Gallery schools, family and community programmes and Roehampton University, visiting lecturer delivering the art and design module to BA Primary students. For more details of my ceramic work and art workshops please see my website http://www.artworksinspire.com.
